Spread a little happiness..

'Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light' Albus Dumbledore
Lets face it, the world's a depressing place at the moment but me and my infinite wisdom is on a mission to make the world a more happier place. Take for example, Bus Drivers. They drive the same route,  letting people on and off, and never getting any appreciation from it. Granted some people (Like Me) say thank you as they get off, but must be rather boring. So now instead of just Thank You its Thank You and have a nice day. If just one person says have a nice day out of a whole bus. That must put a smile on their face. Or even Cheers Love (in a Yorkshire accent) I may have said that to a bus driver before and then immediately had a giggling fit.....

Especially since Christmas is soon approaching... who wants to be miserable at christmas?? And as Sarah can prove, with me around there is never a dull moment especially after I have had a coffee or two.

Cheerio ducks!!

And remember.... everyone has bad days, Even John Watson

Pumpkin Lattes and Tomato Juice

Today I tried something different when I walked into a coffee shop, I had a Pumpkin Spiced Latte and its safe to say I will never be drinking it again.. Bleurgh. I am now safely of the opinion vegetables should be eaten and not drunk. I'm all up for trying new things so I thought  give it a try............ It tasted like Carrots and I don't not like carrots it's just I don't want to drink them.

The first time I remember seeing Vegetable Juices was on a plane to Greece when I was 8. On the way there the cart came round with the drinks and there was a Tesco Value carton of Tomato Juice on it, which as a 8 year old confused me (to be fair, I'm still baffled as to why someone would want to drink tomatoes but there you go) I mean why drink a tomato when you could just buy a pack and eat them? I know you can use the same arguement with fruit but fruit juices taste nice... tomato juice would taste of tomatoes. Carrot Juice mixed with other fruits I can understand but on its own???

Its safe to assume that there is a long list of things I don't understand and baffles me and Pumpkin Spiced Lattes and Tomato Juice is just one of many. Its also safe to say that next time I go into a coffee shop I will stick to what I know.. Coffee or a yummy Chai Tea Latte.

Peace Out :)

Dear Sarah, The One Where It Ends

This is probably going to be the last Dear Sarah till next summer since on Monday we go back to uni and resume our normal life of not getting work done, watching movies, baking cakes and laughing our heads off!

This summer has been pretty amazing though hasn't it. We went on our first group (well.... trio) holiday and got to soak up some summer sun and relax by a pool for a week!

We went shopping and brought some lush things in Lush and just generally had a great time. Although the one thing we never did this summer was me and Tom go to Leicester and meet your Fam-a-Lam :D

So since this Dear Sarah/Helen escapade has come to an end for now, there will be plenty more adventures for us to both blog about... the Disney revision sessions, trips to Milton Keynes when we finally go to the bit with the Frog Clock (its a thing... i'm not making it up!!), the Christmas themed birthday parties complete with fake snow and snowmen, the Christmas Jumper shopping trip, and of course the days stuck at uni with me hyper on Coffee!

So for now, toodledo. And enjoy the peace of your house before you come back to the student house... because your not likely to get any peace and quiet there!!

And as per the tradition. Here is some videos you might enjoy :D

My Favourite Fictional Characters

Over the years I have read a lot of books and probably watched even more films and TV Shows. Therefore I have developed a long list of favourite Fictional Characters so I've decided to share some of them with you and why I love them so much.

BENEDICT!!!
  • Sherlock Holmes, The Benedict Cumberbatch version... because.... *sighs* Benedict........
  • Hercule Poirot, There is something intriguing about the little egg shaped headed Belgian who solves crimes, has OCD and has a rather magnificent moustache.
  • Miss Marple, She would be that Granny that everyone loves and would also always have Tea and Cake ready. (Can you tell I like Agatha Christie??)
  • Bridget Jones, She is just amazing
  • Loki, He is just phowar!!!!!!
  • Olaf from Frozen, because he doesn't have a skull.... or bones
  • The Doctor, He can time travel and has a tardis... what not to love.
  • Barney Stinston, because he's Legend... wait for it and I hope your not lactose intolerant because the second word is dairy!
  • Joey Tribbani, He is just awesome!!
  • All of the History Boys, just because!
  • Cadfael, He's a crime solving medieval monk!!
  • Captain Jack Sparrow, He's a Pirate!! and hilariously funny!
There are a lot more which I just can't think of right now, So till next time..... Goodbyeeeeeee

Dear Sarah, The One When The Summer Holiday Is Nearly Over (AKA, The One With The Long Title!)

As the title suggests our summer holiday is nearly over so we won't have to blog to each other  because we'll see each other instead! What are we going to do??

I can't believe you didn't realise why it was called the Elephant Love Medley... Silly Sarah!!! We need to watch that! I like Ewan! and we can sing-a-long to the Elephant Love Medley and annoy Tom!!

I have finished work for this year now, so you can expect me to text you more and reply quicker to texts now.. and more snapchats because undoubtly I will get bored!!

By the way... I LOVED your Disney post, Disney is just awesome! I am slightly disappointed that Tarzan isn't on your list.... tut tut tut Mummy Sarah you've let me down!!! I will have to show you how awesome it is so it is bumped up into your top ten!

We need to think of some really funny ways of annoying Tom when you get back!! We will make this year EPIC!! oooh and guess what... Bad Education is back on tv soon so more CLASS WARS!!!

Anyway I will leave it there for now. Enjoy the rest of your time at home because soon you'll be coming back to the Mad House!!

Ta'Rah!!!

I Can't Wait To Go Back To Uni....

Ok, my secrets out... I want my Summer Holiday to be over with so I can go back to Uni and get in a proper routine again of 6 o'clock starts to catch the bus to get to Uni by 9 for lectures, Spending money on Coffees and dossing around in the Student Union with Sarah while Tom is working and annoying him!

And since its my third year (which is just crazy..) I really need to get a grasp on reality and do work before its due (says the one writing a blog when theoretically she could be doing some of her Dissertation..)  and make sure its all planned and sorted and spend more time doing work at uni rather than watching tv and films at home.

There are also some things I don't want to do this year, such as:

  • Not being late to a lecture in the First Week (For the past 2 years I've been late for a Lecture in the first week, in first year I was late for my first ever lecture... whoops!)
  • Finish work late at night
  • Start Assignments a few days before they are due.

So this is my aim for this year.... GRADUATE!!

Dear Sarah, The One Where I'm Listening to Disney.

Dear Sarah,

Only some of my Snapchats are amusing?? I'm disappointed I thought my fake moustache was a masterpiece and who can resist cute Pierre?? (Everyone else who reads this is going to be very confused!) I'll have to up my game then!!

Doctor Who was AMAZING!! I know Peter Capaldi has only done one episode but he is looking pretty good so far so I reckon I'll quite enjoy his time in the Tardis. I liked all the references to other Doctors and Episodes, especially when he recognised his face (linking the fact that he was in the Fires of Pompeii episode) and that poor dinosaur but hey i'll just have to Let It Go... (get it??)

We seriously need to have a Disney day like really soon otherwise I might go mad!! I've made a Spotify Playlist of some Disney songs and its really making me want to watch the movies! (At the Moment its Once upon a Dream from Sleeping Beauty and now i'm rereading it its Bella Notte From Lady and The Tramp) Is it me or is the soundtrack to Tarzan awesome?? That film is on Netflix so we can watch that on our disney day, and I can bring my Disney DVDs!! Only 1 Month till we go back to Uni!!!! Eek.

I'VE GOT A DREAM, I'VE GOT A DREAM!!!

Basically I wanted to say I really want to watch Disney again and Doctor Who was awesome!! So as per I will leave you with some funny videos which I think you'll like... enjoy!!!

Aren't they cute!!

I Need To Read More Books...

I'm a self confessed book worm. I love reading, always have, always will but recently the amount of books I have read has dwindled and not through lack of books (I have plenty that I haven't read yet) but lack of time. After uni breaks up for the summer holidays I always run out of time to read after spending the day at work or just spending time with friends. It doesn't help either that sometimes when I have the time to and want to read a book on my Kindle I go to turn it on to find it has ran out of battery (mainly because I forget to charge it up!!)

However, come the end of September I should have more time to read books. I will make it another of my mid year resolutions (like the one to wear more clothes... Click Me!!) and theoretically it shouldn't be hard to keep since I will travelling to uni on the buses again which will give me more time to read (as long as I don't get travel sick!!)

So hopefully this time next year I will have cleared most of my back log of unread books ready to buy some more!
I have a very varied taste! Can't beat a good ol' Agatha Christie though!

I am also one of those people who likes to read the book before watching the film so hopefully I will have finished reading The Fault In Our Stars before the film comes out of DVD so I can judge whether it will make me cry or not!!

Anyway thats enough from me at the moment!! Will do another post in the week with my reply to the latest Dear Helen Check it out!! and maybe another one with my favourite books what do you reckon??

Ta'Rah!!

Dear Sarah, The One Where My Room Smells Nice :D

Howdy Stranger!!

I loved meeting up with you on Monday. Because of the Bath Bomb and Bubble Bar which I brought from Lush my room smells really nice especially if i've left my bedroom room door closed and open it when I come home from work with all the cute little babies, its lush!! ;). Still haven't used them though. Will probably use them on Friday as an end of the week treat, Light a candle and have a Buble Bath :D

I decided that since I have done a Places To Want to Go To Before I'm 25 post that you should do it but since your 2 years older than me it can be before your 27. How about that??

I also reckon we should go to Milton Keynes just after we are back at Uni. Maybe on a weekday though instead of the Weekend and this time I will remember to charge my Phone up unlike the first time we went. And maybe we should actually look at the shops in the bit where we haven't been yet..... There's a Lush there!!!! YIPPEE!!

I know your now on your 2nd holiday of the week so you probably won't get to reply for a while so until next time I will continue to Snapchat wierd photos to you and sent random texts and try to annoy Tom for you.

Till next time... enjoy the videos... (this has become like a tradition now hasn't it.. I like it!!)

Love a bit of Michael Buble and Jack Whitehall!

Place to go before I'm 25* (*but will probably never go to)

I knew I wanted to blog today but I had no idea what to blog about so I called on the trusty wisdom of Sarah (click here for her blog!) and she did the wise shout of Places I want to go to before I'm 25. So here it is, Enjoy :)

The Pyramids at Giza, Egypt and the Cairo Museum. Since I was a child I have been fasinated by the Ancient Egyptians and I've always wanted to see the Pyramids and Tutankhamen so when my Grandad went on a cruise to Egypt and got to see both of them I was incredibly jealous (for about 1 minute)
  • Stonehenge. Well the Pandorica is buried there... Doctor Who is real right???
  • London, to see Les Mis and Jersey Boys and do the touristy things.
  • Venice. There is something Romantic and Magical about going to Venice.
  • Paris... at night, same reason as above.
  • Poole General Hospital in 1958 so I can meet my Dads parents when they were nurses.
  • Top of the Empire State Building. Bet that is a pretty view. :D
  • Mount Everest. Bet that View is nice as well.
  • The middle of a field in the 19th Century at night.. What no light pollution.... with a telescope
  • Loch Ness
  • Stoke Bruerne in the 1960s so I can see my Mum's parents when they were younger (and meet my Grandad)
  • New York (as long as Weeping Angels aren't there...)
  • Pompeii and Herculaneum. That as always fancinated me too.
  • Go on Safari in Africa :D

There are plenty more places that I want to go to but just can't think of at the moment.  And yes I know some are impossible until Time Travel is possible but a girl can dream right??

Ta'Rah

My Diary: 10 August 2010/2011

I've decided to share with you two entries from my diary from this day 3 and 4 years ago, they aren't really that interesting I just thought I would post them so enjoy!!

Tuesday 10 August 2010 (Some names have been replaced with Blah because I doubt they would want to be mentioned, I wasn't going to post this one but then decided to. This was just after Year 11 so Me and Caitlin ( and Blah) had just left school)

I met Caitlin at Weston Favell today. It was AWESOME!! Although I did spend in excess of £20! But hey.. I did have a Subway Meal Deal and a drink at Costa Coffee. Oh it was retail  therapy time. I brought a jacket/fleece/coat that is awesome and a headband which has a blue flower on it, and some metallic purple nail polish.

Oh and Caitlin and Blah have fallen out. And I don't blame Caitlin. Blah was horrible towards the end. I mean they ditched me, Caitlin for Blah and Blah without considering us and just ignored us after. So in the end she wasn't a good friend. The earlier you cut back dead  stems the more buds will develop. (there are plenty more corny lines in my diaries unfortunely!)

Wednesday 10 August 2011 (Just to give some back story, Grandad had been in hospital for roughly over a Month after falling over at our house and hadn't yet been diagnosed with Dementia)

Grandad popped over earlier (he was causing a nuisance on the ward) for a while so Dad brought him to ours to unwind and it was like I had my Grandad back again, he was singing and dancing into the hospital and he was joking around and stuff but by 4 o'clock he was causing a nuisance again. Next time the Hospital call home i'll see if I can talk to him over the phone to calm him down and maybe throw in some bribery.

Tomorrow I'm meeting up with Caitlin and stupidly said that I'll pay for her drink I might change our meeting to BB's instead of Costa! :) I'm meeting her after I finish work so :) Work with probably drag....

So there you go a glimpse into 15 and 16 Year Old Me's Life, To be fair I'm not that interesting!! So until I can think of a proper blog post to write-- Taddy Bye!! And you never know I might do another post like this again!

P.s. Me and Caitlin ending up rearrangeing our coffee meeting for another day :D

Tuesday 5 August 2014

Dear Sarah, The One Where I Am Jealous!

Now I feel left out, You and Tom are both going on 2 Holidays :( Although it does mean that while your both spending money I'll be saving it!! Haha. I'll class mine and Tom's trip to Leciester to see you (when we eventually do it.. Will probs be beginning/ middle of September maybe?)  as my second holiday!

Congrats on the new cousin by the way. Did you manage to finish the Blanket in time? Babies are so cute, apart from when they are grumpy and crying which makes up about 50% of the time that they're not sleeping!! You wouldn't believe that I  exactly like my job would you??

I've discovered I can get 10% discount at Hobbycraft so I might have to make a shopping trip to Sixfields and have a gander :D Might try and make myself a nice Top or something nice like that. Depends how expensive the material will be. Don't want to spend all my months wages in a the space of week when it has to last me a month!

I think I've told you i've rebooked my Theory Test haven't I? I have that in 10 days. Then 10 days after that its my birthday so in 20 days I'll be 20! How cool is that!

Whats left to say?? Have fun on your holiday and hopefully I'll see you soon!!

P.S. I found some films we have to see when they come out!! I've linked the trailer below so enjoy!! ( plus the random funny one for my own amusement!)

The Riot Club:
Paddington:

And DAVID TENNANT!! :

Mid-Year Resolutions

Over the years I have gradually become more and more into buying nice clothes and make up. But the trouble with me is i'm a creature of habit. I'm more than happy to just stay in comfy Jeans and t-shirts and not wear make up. So I'm going to make some changes of my own. I'm going to wear the dresses and the tops which I hardly ever wear more often. Not just over the summer but also over the winter. I have jumpers I hardly wear which would be perfect... Especially my jumper with a Snowman on it (as I said in a seminar when the lecturer pointed it out.. its awesome! Then instantly had a Hagrid moment..)

I'm going to wear the bright red lipstick that takes ages to come off, and the eyeliner that I will end up smudging an hour after putting it on. And because I have put it online for anyone who actually reads my blog to see I have to keep to it.

So this is is a bit like a middle of year resolution- to wear more clothes.

So till next time....

Wednesday 30 July 2014

Dear Sarah, The One Where I Say What Pops Into My Head.

Hello!! I'm back again.

I've seen How To Train Your Dragon 2!! Me and Tom went to Cinema on Saturday to see it. If you haven't seen it yet you should its really good. I think you'll like it. Toothless it really cute. I like Toothless!!

I can't believe we have to start looking at other universities now for our PGCE's seems strange. Doesn't seem like we are going to be Third Years!! EEK!!!

I was watching clips from Doctor Who earlier and saw the Adipose and remembered how cute they are!!! I want one!!! I shall call him Squishy and he shall be my Squishy!!

They are just so cute!!!

I reckon we should bake a massive chocolate cake!! That would be awesome. It could be your Birthday Cake for the awesome Christmas themed birthday party you and Tom are having at your student house including sprayable snow!! AND A SNOWMAN. That would be awesome

I want to go shopping tomorrow and spend my wages on make up i'll probably never wear. Although I have been wearing more makeup recently. And I have a quiff now, quiff's are cool. :) Mainly because its too hot have my fringe down and its a bit long.

I'm a Fish called BOB!!!!

Running out of random things to post now..... BATMAN!!!

Anyway.. I'll leave you with a silly clip now... I look forward to your next post. Mine should be up in a few days if I get around to finishing it. :D

Things I Would Tell My 10 Year Old Self

Life would be so much better if we could talk to our younger selves wouldn't it. It would save all the embarrassment and the friendships which you would have been better without. But unless The Doctor decides to lend me his Tardis for a day then that isn't going to happen. However this is what I would tell my 10 Year Old Self :

  • Make the most of the time you have with your Grandparents and tell them everyday you see them that you love them. And give them big squishy hugs!!
  • In a 4-5 years when you go to your boyfriend's sister's party (Yes... You get boyfriends!!) and your in the bathroom and two people in your year at school come in and start talking to each other about you- Walk out of the cubicle and look at their faces when they realise you overheard EVERYTHING!!!! (that is one of the things I regret not doing!)
  • Take the second year of Uni more seriously! (yes, you go to uni!!)
  • You want to be a Secondary School History teacher, not a Journalist, a Policewoman or a Primary School Teacher.. (it just makes every thing a whole lot simpler!)
  • Don't worry if you lose friends when you go into Secondary School, you make more friends who are more awesome (You start saying awesome alot!)
  • Its alright if you get upset and scared by the Ghost Tower at Warwick Castle and start crying... honest! (Yeah that's going to happen before Secondary School, What? It's dark and there is creepy noises)
  • You do eventually get a bigger room, YAY!!
  • You know that programme you've watched about Stephen Hawking ... You really like the bloke that plays him! (BENEDICT!!)
  • You know you've always wanted to abseil down the lift tower... Yeah you do that!
  • Don't think about the What If's, just enjoy each day and make the most of your life.
  • Sometimes your own little world is better than the real one.

There probably is a whole lot more that I would say to my 10 Year Old Self but i'll save that for another day.

Ta'Rah Chucks!!

Wednesday 23 July 2014

Dear Sarah, The One Where I Reply.

So. I know you did this on your blog but i'll just explain to my peeps about what we're doing. Basically, we're writing letters to each other but instead of posting them through a letter box, we're posting them on here instead. I will post mine on here and Sarah will post her letters on her blog, Click on this link for the first post which Sarah has done starting it off> CLICK ME!!! Hopefully we'll each post one once a week till we go back to uni for Autumn term of our third year!

Sarah!! we finally managed to get round to doing this!!! High Five for us!! I haven't been working 5 days weeks yet but only because it was still term time but no doubt next week i'll have longer hours and more days... which means more money so maybe i'll have enough for another holiday! I reckon we should go on holidays as much as can before we get proper jobs and become teachers and have to pay more to go abroad!! Although with the weather we've been having since we got back we could just pitch a tent in a garden its been that hot.

We definitely have to watch The Imitation Game film... who can't resist Benedict with those contact lenses!! And cook more when we're studying and doing our uni work or our Crime assignments. So we'd be eating ALOT of cookies and cake!! We should try and make a fudge brownie cake... or actually get round to making the Tom and Jerry ones if it hasn't gone out of date before we go back! Eek. Doesn't seem real that we're now third years. Even though technically we have less work to do its more? (do you get what I mean?) It counts more so I guess no more late night finishes or starting it the week before. Although because I don't have any Ed Studies lectures I shouldn't have loads of assignments due the same week!! That was horrendous!!

By the way, you still need to show us a picture of your Smurf hair. I showed you a picture of my dip-dyed coppery blonde hair.. its only fair!! hehe. Just think. Not long till we get to annoy Tom together and gang up on him!! We need to visit you as well. I need to meet Ellie!! :) So much to do!! I started my dissertation, and by started I mean I opened a Word document wrote its working title and my name but small steps!! hehe

I think i'm addicted to shopping as well-- we can drag Tom and David on more shopping trips!! Yay!! But now we don't have the holiday I don't have a reason to buy new clothes :( never mind. At least I should save some money!!

Thats enough rambling from me for now. Can't wait to see your next post :) My next non Dear Sarah post should be up at the weekend so watch out for that!!

To Infinity and Beyond!!!

School Days

I'm not ashamed to admit it, I enjoyed my time at secondary school. Some parts of school I didn't enjoy, the occasional bullying, falling out with friends (which happened quite alot) But those experiences made me who I am today. I was one of the kids that used to get work done and pay attention in class. But I also used to have fun. I used to plug headphones into my phone and listen to music in class (one of the benefits of shoulder length hair and blazers...) but it used to help me concentrate and I used to get the work done although I am 99.9% sure my Citzenship teacher knew I listened to music in her class and my Maths teacher definitely knew (I asked his permission!!)

My GCSE choices made sense to me when I picked them in Year 8 (around the time I wanted to be a Journalist) but fast forward to end of Year 9 when I changed my mind to be a Primary School Teacher, Business Studies and Media Studies seemed like the wrong decision (Fast Forward 6 Years and it changed again!!)

I was never one of the 'popular kids' at secondary school. I was quite happy to do my own thing e.g. spend pretty much most of my time in the library helping out but that doesn't mean I was friendless. I had amazing friends, and am still in contact with some of them. Yeah we sometimes had disagreements but it all worked out in the end. Although there was one time where I had to try and juggle spending time with two friends who didn't get on and spending time with my boyfriend at the time which clever solution I came up with was to spend two lunches with each friend and one lunch with my boyfriend...  and unsurprisingly we broke up a short while later (we were 15 and good riddance frankly!!!)

I never went to my Year 11 Prom because that week I went on holiday with my family but to be honest, I don't care that I missed out. For a start my parents saved money as they didn't have to buy a dress and apparently it wasn't all that good anyway!! I also never brought the school photos. Only kept the slip that has the little samples on. After all, after year 7 they never put a watermark on them and the only nice ones are Year 7, 8 and 11. Over Year 9 and 10 I had braces and no fringe (trust me.. I look better with a fringe!!)  so those photos are horrible!!

Honestly... I don't think I would want to change any part of Secondary School. Sure some bits sucked but the good outweighs the bad and it sounds corny but its true, I am who I am because of my experiences in that bright blue blazer (which I still have and still fits, I had the same blazer from year 7 to year 11 which means it must have been quite big in year 7!)

Kirk out!

Wednesday 16 July 2014

Doctor Who...???

In honour of the Series 8 of Doctor Who coming back on screen on the 23rd August (two days before my birthday!!) I will share with you my favourite episodes from the recent series' (Christopher Eccleston to Matt Smith) and some of my favourite quotes.

  • Vincent and the Doctor. One of the reasons I probably like this episode is because its written by Richard Curtis but its just so beautiful. "The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don't always soften the bad things, but vice-versa, the bad things don't necessarily spoil the good things and make them unimportant."
  • The Crimson Horror. There's just something about Matt Smith's Yorkshire accent..
  • Planet of the Dead. Malcolm.. that is all!
  • The Lodger and Closing Time. JAMES CORDEN!! "Annihilate? No! No violence, do you understand me? Not while I'm around, not today, not ever. I'm the Doctor. The Oncoming Storm. And you basically meant beat them in a football match, didn't you?"
  • End of Time Part 1&2. Worst. Rescue. Ever! Plus I love how it shows what the companions are doing after their travels with the Doctor.
  • The Fires of Pompeii. This episode is not only set in my favourite historical era but also features a future doctor and companion, how awesome it that!!
  • Daleks in Manhattan. SPIDERMAN!!!
  • The Unicorn and the Wasp. Its Agatha Christie!! Plus it has lots of references to titles of Agatha Christie's books. "No, but isn't that a bit weird? Agatha Christie didn't walk around surrounded by murders, not really. I  mean that's like meeting Charles Dickens, and he's surrounded by ghosts, at Christmas"
  • Time Crash. Ok its a Children in Need Special but its pretty funny. "Hey, I'm the Doctor! I can save the universe with a kettle and some string and look at me! I'm wearing a vegetable!"
  • The Doctor's Daughter. Just because Georgia Moffett is Peter Davison's daughter and David Tennant's wife!!
  • Day of the Doctor. There is just so many good moments!!
Plus many more but that enough for now!! Remember...... Bow Ties are cool!!

Would You Like a Jelly Baby??

Crete 2014!!!

I'VE BEEN ON HOLIDAY!!! Whoop whoop!! My first holiday in 4 years and it was amazing (minus the disastrous trip to the airport to come home but more on that later!) Most of the time Me, Sarah and Tom chilled out by the swimming pool and went in the pool every now and again to cool down. Although on the first day me and Tom both managed to get sun burned (I managed to just burn my legs and chest although my tankini left me with lovely tan lines..) Although in our 7 days there we did manage to do some touristy things, we visited the ancient palace at Knossos where the stories about the Minotaur originated from (we got in for free because we're students) and we also spend a few hours at a local beach where we brought some snorkels and went snorkelling. And despite the fact that I was deliberately looking for some fish it didn't stop me screaming when I saw some. By the way its really hard to scream when your wearing a snorkel!!
Tom and Sarah got photobombed at Knossos!!
The lovely Olympic Sized Swimming pool!!
On there plane there and back I sat next to the window and saw some amazing views especially on the way to Crete since the plane left Birmingham Airport at 17.45 I got to see some snow capped mountains (might be the Alps but its hard to tell when you can't see which country your flying over!!) The flight back was lot more stressful due mainly to the fact that we were all-inclusive at the hotel which meant that most drinks were included. We also had a late flight so we spent the whole day doing what we normally did and chill by the swimming pool... near the snack bar where they was free lager on tap which Tom made the most out of. But later on while waiting in the reception he made the brilliant decision of drinking a rum and coke (The bar staff didn't measure out the alcohol so a glass of rum and coke contained half a glass of rum)
So by the time the coach came to take us to the airport Tom was drunk so much so that he kept falling over and couldn't hold his balance.. which meant it didn't take a genius to work out when we waiting to check in our luggage that he was drunk so Me and Sarah were told by the ground staff at the airport that we had to sober Tom up enough so that he was allowed to fly. We were also told by one member of staff that we had to decide what to do if Tom wasn't allowed on the plane... Me and Sarah both said they we would be flying back to England while Tom would be left in the airport (We weren't being evil, it would have been his own fault for getting so drunk he wasn't allowed to fly) Luckily though he did sober up enough to fly but kept saying 'I told you I would be alright' and didn't understand how close he got to not being allowed on the plane and stranded in Crete.
Ooh I do like to be beside the sea!
So what I learnt on this trip is.. never let Tom mix drinks on the day you fly back, make sure you put sun cream on your forehead otherwise you will get sunburned there, and if I am sat near a window on a plane I will sit there until it gets dark.... and still after that I will be tranfixed by that window... its one way to keep me quiet!!

So until next time... Cheerio!

Superheroes!!!!

Life would be way better with Superheroes in it wouldn't it, Batman and Superman being normal sights in common life, saying "Hi" to Captain America as he walked down the street (Ok, Maybe he comes to England for a holiday?? Or to film the second Avengers movie!!)  Me, Sarah and Tom are all going to wear something 'Superheroey' for the flight to go to Crete on Holiday (because we're strange like that...) So Sarah is going to wear a Superman T-shirt and Tom is going to wear a Batman T-shirt and I'm going to wear a t-shirt which has Iron Man, Hulk, Captain America and Wolverine on it ( It also says 'I ♥ Men in Uniform... which is true!) Superheroes are just amazing.

Some Superheroes don't even have Special Powers. Take Batman... He wasn't bitten by a radio-active spider or given a super-serum, he made himself a Superhero which means that technically I could be a Superhero! I could build a mechanic suit and save the world, save the world on a daily basis. All I need to do now is build my superhero suit and then i'm sorted!!!

Ooooh Captain!!!
